Every Masonry Chimney should be constructed with liner inside the chimney and noncombustible materials surrounding a liner. Chimney liner serves many very important functions. It is a barrier between a heat, destructive byproducts of burning fire. Also it may be used to correctly size a flue to achieve appliance being the most efficient and reduce creosote buildup.

Reasons for a chimney relining:

Relining Types

Clay Tiles

Used during new construction or rebuilding a chimney. Clay tile is the least expensive material used for chimney lining and its proven to work very good when well maintained.

Metal Liner

Prefabricated metal liner is the best and the least expensive option when retrofitting into existing chimney. Stainless steel liners are used for solid fuel and aluminum liners are used for gas.

Cast Masonry

This method is proven to be very good solution for historic homes, where in addition strengthen a chimney. It is more expensive then clay tile and metal liners.
